Added the signature energy pulses along the lasers. I separated out the main laser material from the smaller ones so that I can have better control over the look of each. The material uses a wave texture to create stripes that I then use to control the emission strength along the UVs of the laser cylinders. I can also animate the Y location of the mapping node to make the pulses move along the laser beam. I may use the same technique to control the alpha with some distortion to break up the uniformity of the lasers. You can also see that the lasers do this a bit in the Alderaan destruction scene from A New Hope.
